Revenue achieved was the highest in the company's history
Volare, a business unit of Marcopolo S.A. and manufacturer of light vehicles for the transportation of passengers, had a record export performance in 2016. The result has contributed to increase the presence of the brand in important countries of Latin America, Africa, the Middle East and Asia.
With a volume of 445 units exported to 21 countries (the best result ever achieved), the manufacturer achieved growth of about 80% compared to 2015, when it exported 254 vehicles to 14 countries. The new markets were Cameroon, Colombia, Cote d'Ivoire, the United Arab Emirates, Guatemala, Hong Kong, Mexico and Myanmar.
"With the great expansion registered in 2016, Volare now has a network of distributors with sales and after sales in 38 countries," emphasizes Rodrigo Bisi, the company's export manager. The most exported models were the WL, the largest produced by the brand with capacity for up to 36 passengers, the W9 and the V9L, both with total gross weight of 9,000 kg that provide different configurations, both for tourism and chartering, with ample space and comfort, as well as for urban transport due to its greater capacity.
"Volare's presence has grown significantly in Latin American countries such as Bolivia, Chile and Peru, but we are also present in Asia and the Middle East and in two relevant development centers such as Hong Kong and the United Arab Emirates," highlights Bisi.
"Exports represent more than 30% of the total number of vehicles sold by Volare in 2016, an expressive and unprecedented percentage," concludes Rodrigo Bisi. This year, the brand intends to intensify its participation in these conquered markets and increase the volume of exported vehicles by 20%.
