Units will be used for intercity passenger transport
Volare, the Brazilian leader in the development and production of light passenger transport vehicles, has delivered 40 units of the Urban V8L model to Cooptagran, a transportation co-operative in the state of Rio Grande do Norte. The minibuses will be used in the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante.
According to Sidnei Vargas, Volare commercial manager for the domestic market, the fleet reinforces Volare's presence and market share in the Northeastern region of Brazil. "We are brand leaders in important cities such as Alagoas, Aracaju and Pernambuco, and to expand our operations in Rio Grande do Norte, proves our exclusive services and the efficiency and robustness of our vehicles," says the executive.
Formed by 70 co-operatives, Cooptagran was the winner of a tender contract of 20 years + 5 years to operate in the city of São Gonçalo do Amarante, carrying out the regular urban transport. "This city, located in the region of Natal suburbs, is in the entrance of the State of Rio Grande do Norte, where the Aloisio Alves International Airport is located. Caixa Econômica bank was the institution that granted the credit for the acquisition of vehicles through the Finame BNDES line. The notice estimates 45 cars for operation and three reserve buses. In the first moment 40 vehicles were acquired ", explains Sidnei Vargas, Volare commercial manager.
The Volare Urban V8L is powered by 152 Hp Cummins ISF 3.8 engine, and features exclusive configuration with more comfort for users, air-conditioning system, external LED taillights, wide aisle in 8,450 mm lenght, 2,200 mm total width and a capacity to carry 20 passengers seated. It is also economic with low fuel consumption that provides high performance in urban operations.
