The first electric vehicles for chartering and transfer services

Shift Corporate Mobility, from São Paulo, which is specialized in providing corporate mobility services, has just acquired four new Volare Access-e minibuses with fully electric motorization. The company is the first in Brazil to create an exclusive fleet of 100% electric vehicles.

According to Alexandre Pinto, director and founder of Shift, the unprecedented decision to opt for fully sustainable and zero-emission vehicles is in line with the company's guidelines of combining technology and innovation for the best mobility service. “We decided to  anticipate and meet the needs and demands of our customers, contributing to environmental preservation and passenger comfort and convenience,” he emphasizes.

“Electricity or renewable energy motorization is essential for the future of mobility. The choice for Volare Access-e was due to the product unique advantages: It is a modern vehicle with no carbon dioxide and nitrogen oxide emissions, nor the soot of traditional diesel-powered vehicles. It is a comfortable and compact vehicle among many other attributes, ”says Alexandre.

According to João Paulo Ledur, Volare's director, Access-e allows the reduction of environmental pollution, raising the quality standard of public transport. “We have been doing a gradual work of assimilation. Since we started developing the model, because of its unprecedented nature, we knew it would be a long task. We knew it wasn’t an easy mission. Despite being increasingly popular around the world, in Brazil, there is still no strong culture about the advantages and benefits of 100% electric vehicles in transportation. ”

The Volare Access-e is an all-new low-floor, rear-engine minibus model. It is fully accessible with unique standards of comfort, accessibility and safety. Developed in partnership with China's BYD, the world leader in electric motorization for vehicles, it has a BYD D7M chassis that reduces greenhouse gas (CO2) emissions by 86% over the total life cycle of the vehicle in Brazil's power grid. The vehicle is also more comfortable than a similar diesel-powered model and can lower operating costs by up to 70%. The emission reduction of each 100% electric minibus in operation is the equivalent of 33 automobiles. 

Due to its low floor, it is easier, faster and safer for passengers to board and disembark, including people with disabilities or reduced mobility. The “Full Air” six-bag front and rear air suspension and 70mm lowering system significantly reduce vibrations, providing passengers with a smooth and comfortable ride.

According to Sidnei Vargas, Volare's national sales manager, Volare Access-e is ideal for urban centres. “The model was designed to provide more interior space with batteries positioned to provide maximum efficiency, reduced operating costs and total weight (one of the major challenges for electric passenger vehicles), ” he explains.

The vehicle is 9,150 mm long, 3,380 mm high and 2,430 mm wide, with low floor, rear wheel drive and carrying capacity of 37 passengers (22 seated and 15 standing). It features BYD powertrain with two 90 kW engines and 450 Nm maximum torque and range of 250 km. To make energy use more efficient, the new vehicle also has a braking energy regeneration system.

Created eight years ago to be a reference in corporate mobility services, Shift operates in Brazil and abroad and has achieved great growth and projection. It has its own diversified fleet and 24/7 customer service to provide customers a unique passenger transport experience, always ensuring safety, agility and economy. 

The company developed the Shift Driver app powered by the latest generation technology. It is available for iOS and Android. The app is used by the operator's drivers, allowing complete and real-time monitoring of all trips, ensuring that drivers take the best routes for agility and safety.
