GLOBAL MOBILITY IS MAKING ROOM FOR THE EXPORTING OF BRAZILIAN MINIBUSES

Even with the Coronavirus pandemic impact in the transport sector, Volare, Marcopolo's brand of minibuses present in 35 countries, continues to expand abroad.

The pandemic has significantly affected the global transport sector. However, Volare, Marcopolo's minibus brand, which is present in 35 countries around the globe, continues to take advantage of the arising opportunities abroad. The brand’s is present in smaller markets such as El Salvador and Costa Rica, as well as in the more consolidated ones such as Chile, for example.

Volare is the Brazilian leader in the export of minibuses with a 50% market share. In the past three years, 1,112 vehicle units have been exported. The main markets are Latin America with emphasis on Chile, which represents more than half of sales, followed by Argentina and Peru.

In August, Volare starts entering the market of El Salvador through its CentroBus representative with the launch of a new product. The Fly 9 is going to meet the country's demand in a partnership with Mercedes-Benz, which will produce the LO 915 chassis with Euro 3 engine, ensuring low fuel consumption and vehicle operational savings.

“This market is especially important for Volare. With this product we can guarantee improved transportation to the country. Today, as there is no regulation for the urban segment, we can observe an old fleet that does not fully meet the needs of passengers as well as the operator. With Fly 9, we are providing a superior product with greater durability, comfort and passenger capacity than the vehicles that are currently running in El Salvador. It also shows lower operating costs and benefits above the competition”, said Rodrigo Bisi, Manager of the Exports Department at Volare.

“The partnership with Mercedes-Benz has also the advantage of offering a wide network of technical assistance and local parts sales. This is a great advantage when operating in the foreign market”, he adds.

The brand intends to present more novelties to the market by the end of the year, aiming mainly at the biosafety of passengers in face of the pandemic.
