34 VOLARE SCHOOL BUSES FOR ACCESSIBLE SCHOOL TRANSPORTATION IN THE CITY OF BELO HORIZONTE

Vehicles provided to the Unicoop Cooperative to serve more than 1,000 students

 

Volare, a business unit of Marcopolo S.A. and the Brazilian leader in the production of light passenger vehicles, will deliver 34 new units of the Volare School Bus V8L  model to the Unicoop Cooperative in Belo Horizonte, Minas Gerais. Mini-buses will be used to transport students with physical disabilities in the public network of the capital of Minas Gerais.

 

The vehicles have been developed with a differentiated internal configuration to offer total accessibility and attend the students with physical disabilities. They feature 10 seats, which three of these are exclusive to PPD'S (People with Disabilities). "Volare's commercial department and Agra Motors, our dealership in Belo Horizonte, has been providing and servicing this important demand," explains Sidnei Vargas, the commercial manager of Volare.

 

Launched in 1999, the Volare School Bus was the first Brazilian model specially designed for school transportation in Brazil. Today, it has become a national reference. Its robustness ensures safety for passengers and its every single detail was developed to better meet the needs of transportation from student´s homes to the educational institutions, reducing school dropout.

 

Equipped with 152 hP Cummins ISF 3.8 Euro V engine, the Volare School Bus presents lower fuel consumption, guaranteeing economy and profitability. The model has school seats, aluminum flooring, enlarged door to facilitate the access of wheelchair users, mobile upper windows and two air fresheners in the ceiling.

 

With more than 10,000 School Buses produced in ten different models - Volare Five, V6L, V8L, V9L, W6, W7, W8, W9, W-L and DW9 - Volare has the most complete minibus family of the industry. Its various internal configurations allow the vehicle to carry up to 50 students according to the needs of each municipality and/or operator.
