VALE DO AMAZONAS FOCUSES ON GROWTH OF THE CHARTER SEGMENT
Company from Amapá is investing in 75 units of Marcopolo and Volare models for the mining segment
While the intercity bus segment is registering a drop in sales volume due to the pandemic caused by the novel coronavirus, the charter sector continues to heat up in 2021. Marcopolo, leader in the bus body sector, with a 52.7% market share, is already showing a warming up in the sales of vehicles destined for this purpose. By the end of this month, the company will deliver more than 200 units destined to transport workers in urban areas and in the mining and agribusiness sectors, in several states.
In this scenario and to meet the mobility and safety needs of these professionals, Marcopolo delivered 75 new Ideale buses and Volare Attack 9 minibuses to Vale do Amazonas, based in the city of Santana, Amapá.
According to Ricardo Portolan, director of MI Commercial Operations and Marketing at Marcopolo, the vehicles are intended for the mining segment, which is very strong in that region of the country, and will be used in the transportation of mine employees. "Part of this volume was delivered promptly, a program in which Marcopolo invests continuously to meet the specific demands of its clients with new buses. The purchase of different models demonstrates the strength of our portfolio, delivering solutions that add value to our customers' operations," says the executive.
Forty-five of the total of 75 vehicles for Vale do Amazonas are the Marcopolo Ideale model, with capacity to transport 48 passengers in Executive model seats, and have Valeo 336 air conditioning system and elevator for total accessibility.
Volare Attack 9 Executivo
Volare has also expanded its presence in the charter segment and in supplying Vale do Amazonas. Last year alone, 65 units were delivered. In the beginning of 2021, the brand supplied 30 units of the Attack 9 Executivo model, with configuration with air conditioning system, Executive seats, total separation wall, baggage holder, and movable windows.
Vale do Amazonas has been a Marcopolo customer since 2007 and belongs to a business group with more than 60 years of experience in passenger transport. It has a fleet of 450 vehicles, serving the areas of bus chartering, vehicle rental, earth-moving, mining and forestry machinery rental.
